Welcome to RypeIQ. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RypeIQ mobile application ("App") operated by RypeIQ ("we," "our," or "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
You must be at least 13 years old to use RypeIQ. By using the App, you represent that you are at least 13 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.

RypeIQ offers a free tier with limited features. No payment information is required to use the free tier.
RypeIQ Premium is available as a monthly subscription ($9.99/month) or annual subscription ($99.99/year — 2 months free). Premium subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's payment terms.
You agree to use RypeIQ only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:
RypeIQ allows you to create a shared household with up to 6 members. By inviting members to your household:
As household admin, you have the ability to remove members and manage household settings. We are not responsible for data changes made by household members you have invited.
RypeIQ uses artificial intelligence to generate recipe suggestions and food quality information. You acknowledge that:

RypeIQ provides expiry date tracking as a convenience tool. You acknowledge that:
RypeIQ and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by RypeIQ and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our written permission.
You retain ownership of any data you enter into the App (pantry items, notes, etc.). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to use that data to provide and improve our services.
RypeIQ integrates with third-party services including Google Firebase, Anthropic, Open Food Facts, and the USDA. Your use of these services through RypeIQ is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information provided through the App.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RYPEIQ SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $10, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RypeIQ and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or any other reason at our sole discretion. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at hello@rypeiq.com.
Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, and limitations of liability.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of Maryland.
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the app or emailing your registered address. Your continued use of RypeIQ after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
